Product description
The Automatic Gate Lock is designed to provide extra security and stability to your swing gate opener system. There are numerous different mounting methods on various types of gates. For that reason, no mounting hardware is included in this kit. Users should prepare U-bolts, common bolts, nuts and washers to mount the lock on different types of gates. To insure that the lock body closes firmly on the pin in the lock receiver, some adjustments of gate closure may be necessary. Please refer to your swing gate opener manual on closed
Parts List
Before beginning installation, please make sure that you have all the parts included as shown below
Mounting the Lock and the Receiver
Step 1: Close the Swing Gate
Unlock the swing gate opener with the release key to enter into manual mode, manually swing the gate to closed position. Please make sure the two swings are in straight line after closing for dual gate systems. This will help to find the best position to mount the lock and the receiver. Please refer to the swing gate opener manual for detailed operation.
Step 2: Confirming the Installation Position
For dual gate system: The lock body and lock receiver should be mounted on a gate cross member or other solid part of the gate surface on the adjacent edges of the two gates. It must be level with the gate opener. If your gate system is inward opening, the
gate mounted with lock body should be set “open first then close” mode (delay in closing); If your gate system is outward opening, the gate mounted with lock receiver should be set “open first then close” mode (delay in closing)
For single gate system: If your gate system is inward opening, the lock body should be mounted on the edge of the gate, the lock receiver should be mounted on the adjacent gate post, lock body and receiver must be aligned and level; If your gate system is outward opening, the lock receiver should be mounted on the edge of the gate, the lock body should be mounted on the adjacent gate post, lock body and receiver must be aligned and level.
Step 3: Adjusting the Installation Position
Using the provided cable ties, position the lock body in an approximate mounting position on a cross member or other mounting surface that is level with the gate opener. The lock body can be moved into an exact position late in the installation process. Find
a location on the another gate(for dual gate system) or gate post(for single gate system) level with the lock body and temporarily tie the lock receiver into position using the cable ties provided. Slide the lock body left and right until it lines up with the lock
receiver. The lock pin holes on the lock receiver must line up with the slot in the lock body. Once this position is achieved, mark the gate or gate post through the center of the two holes in the receiver.
Step 4: Mounting the Lock Body
Drill holes through the marks and attach the lock body to the gate surface with the appropriate hardware. Do not use bolts greater than 5/16 inch in diameter as they will not fit through the slots.
Step 5: Mounting the Lock Receiver
Drill through the marks on the another gate or gate post and attach the lock receiver with the mounting bolts, washers and nuts that you prepared. (Recommend to use pan head screws)
Step 6: Insert the Lock Pin
Insert the lock pin through the holes in the lock receiver, lock on the bottom hole of the pin with the pad lock.
NOTE: Mounting hardware for lock body and lock receiver is not included in the kit. Size and type of fasteners varies with gate.
Step 7: Wiring
After installation, please refer to swing gate opener manual to fulfill the electric wiring.
